What an AWESOME birthday party Braeden had today! The day started with me completely freaking out because it was just storming like crazy when I got up....and the party was outside. I checked the weather channel, and even though all week the news said there would be no rain today and that it would be nice and sunny, this morning it said otherwise. According to the local weather channel, we were going to have severe thunderstorms all day long and the storms would not end until Sunday morning. I was a mental case, because we didn't have a back up plan since we didn't think we needed one.

The party was at our church, and all of our games and events were outdoor ones, but I talked to my pastor and he said we could move the party inside if we needed to. Not long after I got that confirmation, the sky started to clear up and we never had rain again....at least not while the party was going on. Thank you, Jesus!

We didn't get a chance to play all of our games, mostly because it was unbelievably hot, and the kids were a little worn down from their field trip to the Wonder Lab that morning. We did get to play the Meteor Shower game and the Death Star hot potato game, we had the Star Wars main title music and the Mos Eisley Cantina band for music, and they LOVED it. It would have been great to play the other two games, but what they didn't know didn't hurt them...right? They did each get a chance to beat the pinata, and they finally busted it open with a little assistance from the adults. Some of the girls weren't too interested in the Star Wars theme, and some of the younger kids were more interested in playing with their light sabers, but they all had a great time!

The kids absolutely LOVED the Yoda Soda, I think I made three punch bowls full. The coney dog station was quick and easy and the cakes were almost gone when we left. I hated cutting into those cakes, but they must have been good because several people ate several pieces.

Braeden was so excited, and the party was so much fun that he totally forgot about the gifts! Most of his gifts were Star Wars related, of course, and he did get some money. He was very excited about everything that he got, he loved it all. What a great kid!

This was not an easy task, and I'm completely exhausted....but these kids are totally worth it. Now, maybe I should start planning 10th birthday parties for the other two....I only have a year and a half until the next one!
