Man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

A great work out!

I have been doing many different workouts over the past 15+ years and I have to say I have discovered (not on my own) a great exercise for slimming down. This is something that can be done before beginning a toning regimen, it is so easy to do, but very effective!
I have found that rotation is great for slimming many different parts of your body. For example, and this is something that I have been doing for years but never truly realized how great it is, if you stand with your feet about hip width apart, bend your knees a bit, and do a rotation from your waist, turning your shoulders to the left and right...you will ultimately slim and trim your waistline. Be sure not to twist too much, you must have complete control over your movements. While you do this, you can do a controlled left and right cross punch to give yourself a little more resistance. Keep your abs pulled in (imagine pushing your belly button to your spine) and keep your back straight, your hips and your head stationery. The twisting should solely be in your waist area.
A great way to slim your arms is also with rotation. You can either do a circular motion from the elbow as if you are using a punching bag, or you can hold your arms out straight to the sides or in front of you and move them in small circular motions from the shoulder.
For the legs a great rotation is simply pointing the toe with the foot out in front of you...keep a straight leg, but as you tap your toe on the ground in front of you rotate your entire leg at the hip on each tap. You can also do this with your toe pointing behind you.
Just getting up and moving is so great for slimming down, and I believe that losing fat is very important before beginning muscle building. Always be sure to stretch before and after any kind of exercise, drink plenty of water during the workout, and after a muscle building routine, be sure to replenish your muscles with a protein-rich meal. Have fun!
