Focus on your children

As I was looking through some articles this morning on the Focus on your Child website I found a truly wonderful article about child rearing and teaching your children to live their life for Christ. I have been thinking about this so much lately because as my kids are getting older and changing every day I want to instill in them a true love for God, and I want to be a great example for them. My daughter has had many questions about her role in her public school, and it's hard for her to understand why she is different from the other little girls in her class. The Focus on your Child website has so many tips on how to set a Godly example for your kids. I find myself worrying more and more as they get older, but all I can do is teach them in the best way I know how and pray that they will follow the right paths!
Most people have family nights with their children these days, but I feel it's important to evaluate those family nights. What are we doing on these family nights, are we having Bible studies or watching movies? There is nothing wrong with watching movies with your kids, don't get me wrong, but I believe home Bible studies with your children are vital in today's world. I have a little 'bread box' on my kitchen table that has scripture cards and in the mornings I will let the kids pick out one card and we read them over breakfast. We also really enjoy having prayer time before they get on the bus, and it is a great start to their day.
Below is the article I mentioned, I hope you enjoy it and learn from it like I have!
